About Me

I am wife to my wonderful husband, mother to two adult children and Nana to one special granddaughter. I also share my heart and my home with several furbabies. Being creative doesn't come easily to me, but I love to try.

~Another Hello card!~

This one will go into the box with the December mini-album for my mother-in-law.  I have this stack by the Paper Cottage that I love and I've been trying to find a good use for it.  I also have been trying to use at least ONE cut from cartridges I have that I've never used (hanging head in shame).  Since my paper had bird cages, I picked the Parrot from Pirates and Mermaids for this card.  I cut him at 4", inked the layers and added him with an action wobble.  The Hello stamp came from the $1 bin at Ms and the Fibers by the Paper Studio were on clearance.  All were already in my stash.  Hope to get this all mailed out on Monday.  Thanks for stopping by!

~Hello card~

Since I finally finished my She Art girl for my sister's birthday (which was last month, of course), I needed a card to go in the box and figured a Happy Birthday was a little too belated.

I haven't used my Imagine in awhile and needed an excuse, so I dug through the handbooks and found this little fellow on Better Together.  I cut him a 3".  Used some MME paper.  Perfect!  And the box will be mailed tomorrow.

Now if I can just get my December mini done.....

Thanks for stopping by!

~My Not a December Daily~

Many of my crafty friends embarked on a December Daily project which basically documenting the events of December, both large and small.  I didn't think I could commit to that, but I did want to create a December mini book for my mother-in-law of her great-granddaughter.  I started with a chipboard album that had 6 pages, so would hold twelve pictures.  While not complete yet, I do have the front and back covers done and 3 of the 6 pages.  I will post the completed project when done, but wanted to show you the covers.  I also created a fun little embellie "because".  I hope I can fit it in somewhere.  He's from the Island of Misfit toys (which I love) and I was just in the mood one evening to make him....and I just think he's cute....so.....lol....    Thanks for stopping by!

~A Girl for my sister~

I've been wanting to create a She Art girl for my older sister and her birthday was 12/28.  Perfect!  Unfortunately life got in the way and it will be late, but I did finally finish it.  I just love doing these canvases.  I reminds me of fingerpainting in elementary school.  There's no pressure because there is no right or wrong and no way to really mess it up.  Just paint over what you don't like!

I found these wooden paddles at Michaels for 1.99 and they make a good medium.  The little charm says Live your Story and the Girl words say "She nurtures her inner child".  I added a brad to the hat flower and some rolled fabric flowers at the bottom.

I hope she likes it, but I had fun doing it even if she doesn't!  Thanks for stopping by!

~A recipe page - yummmmy Apple Cake~

My poor blog has been severely neglected during the holidays, so now is the time to catch up.
My first post is a recipe card that was a contribution to a cookbook put together by one of my Circle sisters (Sis Patterson) for another (Gina), whose home was devastated by Sandy.  I had to wait until our gift was delivered to post this and then got busy with the season.

The recipe is for Apple cake.  I have never done a recipe card, so I had alot of fun.  I wish I could remember what carts I used, but I don't think I even saved this on my Gypsy.  The recipe is tucked under the "To Make" on the front, but I also laminated a copy and stuck it in a back on the back for ease of use.

Thanks for stopping by!
