This week's message board challenge is all about FLOWERS! Flowers are easier than bling ;-)
I had two cards in mind and couldn't choose, so I did them both. One is spring inspired, the other fall.
For the spring card, I started with green and peach colors (hard to tell here). I cut a frame from peach and overlayed it on a green dotted pattern paper and stamped the sentiment at the bottom. The wheelbarrow was cut twice from two different shades of brown and inked to give it some depth. It was cut at 1.8" from Walk in My Garden. The flower were cut using deep green cardstock, the same peach as the frame and a touch of yellow for the flower centers. The flowers were also inked and the whole thing pop dotted over the frame.
For the fall card, I chose a simple sunflower from Stretch Your Imagination, cut at 4.5". I chopped up some Raffia and hot glued it to the bottom of the card. A simple stamp on a piece of washi tape layered under the flower completed this card. I hand trimmed the raffia after the glue cooled. The pattern paper background is from the new DCWV 6x6 Pumpkin Patch. Love the papers in this pack!

~NSD Challenge - It's All About Perspective
NSD Challenge #4 is to Stamp Out Flat Die Cuts! Nadia is an expert on this and shows you exactly how to do it with EVERY project she creates. For this challenge, I broke out my Imagine (which has been sorely neglected) and my Kate's Kitchen cart. I used both pop dots and inking to achieve dimension for this project. I also created it as an easel card. I cut the window out four time, once at 6" and three times at 5" . From two of the 5" images, I cut off the windowsill and the window rod and added them on top of the 3rd 5" window, building them up. I inked these edges as well. I cut a separate set of curtains in yellow and pop dotted them on top of the existing green. From this modified 5" image, I removed the sky and then pop dotted it on top of the 6" image. This makes the window 3D. I used the flowerpot from the window image, but removed the flower and cut a hyacinth from Walk in my Garden at 2". I inked the pieces and turned out the top set of leaves for added depth. This went on my built out windowsill. The inside sentiment is a stamp that says Bloom Where you are Planted. The one thing I discovered in this project is that stamping out flat die cuts takes a lot of extra time, but what a beautiful result. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by!

The Great Shrinky Dink Caper
This was my first attempt at using shrinky dinks with my Imagine machine. The goal was to make "charms" for my granddaughter's crocs. After wasting a whole sheet to determine what settings I needed to cut through the dang stuff (blade 6, pressure 5, multicut 5), I managed to cut out and bake the following four charms. I learned that layers are not good. This stuff gets really thick when baked. I also learned that I need to find different jewelry hardware for these to work in shoes. Oh well, it was a great creative learning experience and I hope to try it again soon. The turtle and ladybug were from Walk in my Garden, the kitty from Best Friends and the teddy bear from Better Together. Enjoy!
