About Me

I am wife to my wonderful husband, mother to two adult children and Nana to one special granddaughter. I also share my heart and my home with several furbabies. Being creative doesn't come easily to me, but I love to try.

~December Daily 2014

Still trying to catch up on posting my projects.  With the holidays being so busy, the blog is often forgotten.  Next up is my December Daily.  I went overboard on supplies this year and I probably have enough stuff to make my DD for the next 3 years!  sigh.  But I had a TON of fun creating this.  I warn you that this post is pic heavy.   I actually only used cricut cuts on 4 or 5 pages this year, but my all time favorite is Day 18 and the moose from Go Canada!  There isn't even a picture for that day.    I challenged myself to use HAND JOURNALING this year.  I challenged other crafty friends to do the same.  I think it may mean something to our kids and grandkids some day to see our handwriting in these albums.  Anyway, take a little stroll through my December and come visit again soon!

~NSD 2014 - Use music Lyrics for inspiration

Sing. Sing A Song.  The lovely Sara at Sing A Song Challenge has challenged us to use song Lyrics for inspiration on a project.  One of my favorite songs is Wind Beneath my Wings by Bette Midler.
I used New Testament for the dove on my card.  The Clouds are from Forever Young and pop dotted.  The tag is from Art Philosophy and the ribbon from my stash.  I wasn't sure I would be able to do this challenge, but this song just popped into my head.  Funny how that works!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll sing a song or two today!

I'm a little behind in my posting, but here are a couple of projects that I worked on and presented to my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day this year.  She will be 89 years old in July and has only 1 great grandchild (my granddaughter), so the first project was a brag book for her coffee table.  I used 2011 photos since I actually started this in December and did 1 page for each month of the year.  The last page in the book is a 4 generation shot of her with her son, my daughter and my granddaughter.  She really enjoyed this one.  I used Storybook for the fonts and Elegant Edges for all the pages.

My next project was a scene of St. Francis made to look like a book.  This project was inspired by Sis O'Snap and took a long time to complete.  The characters were cut from New Testament and Noah's ABCs.  The roses came from AP and the frames from Fancy Frames.  The flowers on the front were rolled from scraps of fabric.  The entire box was wrapped in fabric and the frame on the front was also cut from fabric.  Included is the Prayer of St. Francis.
